George Seiler
Dr. George Seiler grew up in LaVale, MD and is a 1978 graduate of West Virginia University, cum laude. He earned his Doctorate of Veterinary Medicine from the University of Florida in 1983. He founded the West Virginia Veterinary Medical Foundation in 2003. As an arm of the West Virginia Veterinary Medical Association, this non profit organization strives to benefit the health of animals and people throughout the state through education and scholarship. In 2004, Dr. Seiler was honored as West Virginia Veterinarian of the Year by the West Virginia Veterinary Medical Association. He currently serves as chairman for the Veterinary Awareness Committee for the West Virginia Veterinary Medical Association, of which he is also the current President of the West Virginia Veterinary Medical Association. He is also a member of the American Veterinary Medical Association, the American Animal Hospital Association, the Florida Veterinary Medical Association, and the D.C. Academy of Veterinary Medicine. Dr. Seiler is an adjunct professor at West Virginia University College of Agriculture, Forestry, and Nutritional Sciences and the College of Pharmacy. He instructs two classes for the Pre-Veterinary students at West Virginia University. He is active with the West Virginia University Davis- Michael Pre-Veterinary Scholars Program and serves on their Oversite Committee. In 2010 Dr Seiler established the annual West Virginia Veterinary Career Day sponsored by the West Virginia Veterinary Medical Association and the West Virginia University Davis-Michael Scholars Program. This event informs high school and college students about what is needed to obtain a career in veterinary medicine. He enjoys fishing, photography, traveling and WVU sports. Go 'eers!!
